Are all listed coins professionally graded?
With the exception of some bullion items, all coins are professionally graded by an independent 3rd party grading service (NGC or PCGS).

Why do you only offer profesionally graded coins?
Regardless of the situation, we always recommend exercising good judgement when purchasing a coin. That being said, a professionally graded coin offers the following:
  • Greatly reduces the chance that the coin is counterfeit, has been doctored, improperly cleaned or altered in any way. Coins can be certified on the grader's website.

  • Removes the conflict of interest that may exist when a dealer grades the same coin they are trying to sell.

  • In many cases with coin condition, hundreds if not thousands of dollars can be the difference between just a few grades. Occasionally, valid arguments can be made that a professionally graded coin is either over or undergraded, but most of the time the grade is spot-on.

  • There are many coin varieties – different mint marks, small/large dates, micro letters, motto/no motto, FBL, FS, etc. Some of these differences can be pretty difficult to detect by an untrained eye. 3rd party grading services will correctly identify the coin, and properly label the container's insert.

  • The coin is safely protected by the encapsulated case.

  • Professionally graded (certified) coins command a premium. It should be easier, and more worthwhile financially, to sell a coin that is already professionally graded by a 3rd party company versus one that is not.

Are all coins for sale below list price?
With the exception of some bullion items, yes, they should be. There is the off chance that some coin drops dramatically in price in between our regular price check/price update schedule, but we should be able to identify that anomaly rather quickly.
